Karaoke Food Carry-In: Why You May Still Need to Order
A convenience-store snack may be welcome in a karaoke room, but that does not tell you whether the room price is the whole bill. Before buying food for a session, ask two separate questions: may we bring it in, and must each person also order something?
Round1: permission and an order can coexist
Round1's official karaoke guide permits outside food and drinks regardless of plan. It also states that each person must make one order from the eligible food and drink menu, except on some plans. Bringing a bottle therefore does not by itself remove that requirement. Ask which menu items qualify and whether your selected plan is an exception. Room prices vary by branch and day; use the branch's tariff rather than a chain-wide starting price to estimate your bill.
Manekineko: check the branch first
The Manekineko FAQ says many branches permit carry-in, but some do not. Check the information for the branch you intend to visit. Its explanation of a one-drink plan means one drink per person during the session, charged separately from the room; it does not mean a new compulsory drink every 30 minutes or hour. Do not assume that every available plan has identical conditions.
A practical check before shopping
- Choose the branch and session time. Check that branch's carry-in rule before buying snacks.
- Confirm the plan: room charge, any required order per person, and any included drinks. Ask about the specific food or drink you want to bring if the rule is unclear.
- Compare the total: room charge plus required orders plus optional purchases. Buying outside food adds your own shopping cost; it is not automatically a saving.
- Confirm how to leave packaging and leftovers. Carry-in permission alone does not explain cleaning or waste arrangements.
For example, if three friends select a plan requiring one order each, one shared order does not satisfy three individual requirements. This is a planning example, not a price quote or a claim about an exception plan.
Useful questions at reception
“飲食物の持ち込みはできますか?” asks whether food and drink can be brought in. “このプランは一人一品の注文が必要ですか?” asks whether this plan requires an order from each person. Show the actual plan to staff; an answer about another plan may not apply.
