barhop.jp ("we", "our", "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

When you accept the cookie banner, we collect the following anonymous, non-personally-identifiable data only for improving the service:

• Page views: Page URL, inferred city/area (from location when available), device (iOS/Android/Desktop), browser language, and referral source (e.g. direct, google, instagram, reddit, QR).
• Search events: When you choose a category (e.g. bar, ramen, karaoke), we record approximate coordinates, selected category, whether you started from "at a bar" or "at a restaurant", and time of day / day of week.
• Shop views: When you view a place card or tap "Navigate", we record the place name, category, area (if known), and whether the action was "viewed" or "navigate_tapped".
• Session identifier: A random ID stored in a cookie for up to 24 hours so we can count unique visitors. It is not linked to your identity and expires automatically.

We do not collect IP addresses, names, email addresses, or any information that identifies you personally.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Names, email addresses, or any personal contact information
• IP addresses (we do not store them)
• Account credentials or passwords
• Precise home or work addresses
• Financial or payment information
• Cookies for cross-site tracking

4. How We Use the Data

We use the collected data solely to:

• Understand which areas and categories are most popular
• Improve the service and user experience
• Analyze usage patterns to add relevant features

We do not sell, share, or provide this data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage

Analytics data is stored securely in Supabase (hosted on AWS). Data is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

6. Your Choices

• Consent: You can accept or decline analytics tracking when the consent banner appears.
• Opt-out: You can clear your browser storage at any time to reset your consent preference.
• Location: You can deny location access in your browser. The service works with or without location data.

7. Children's Privacy

This service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. GDPR & Japanese Privacy Law Compliance

We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Japan's Act on Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, no data subject access requests are typically applicable. However, if you have any concerns, please contact us.
